Most commonly, dirt roads are constructed either using a crown or graded slope, whichever is best for the particular area your dirt road is placed.

Additional Measures to ensure your road is weather worthy:

Culverts: Metal, plastic or concrete pipes may be installed under your dirt road to assist in water flow and reduce the risk of wash out in heavy rains or normal runoff.

Ditches: Constructed to drain and carry water run-off from your road to prevent water damage such as ruts and potholes.
